Give birth with a midwife you know!

Min Barnmorska Södertälje is a service, where a team of midwives cares for you during your pregnancy, childbirth, and in the early days with your newborn. We hope that knowing all the midwives in the team will give you greater peace of mind.

Min Barnmorska Södertälje (My Midwife Södertälje) is located at the midwifery clinic in central Södertälje (Södertälje centrums Barnmorskemottagning). Your regular antenatal appointments and examinations will take place here.

The midwifery clinic, Södertälje centrums Barnmorskemottagning, is located on Köpmangatan 3, Floor 5.

  • We offer you individual support. 

We help you throughout your pregnancy and during your childbirth

You will get to know your midwife team during your pregnancy. One of the midwives will be your primary contact. The midwives in the team are employed at Södertälje Hospital maternity ward. They have extensive experience and training in providing support throughout antenatal and postnatal care. 

If you need to see a doctor, your appointment will be at the specialist maternity care unit at Södertälje hospital.

When your baby is on the way, you will call Min Barnmorska Södertälje and one of the midwives from your team will meet you at Södertälje Hospital maternity ward. The midwife will stay with you during your childbirth.

When you leave the hospital with your new family member, the same team of midwives will be responsible for your care during your first week at home.

How to register for Min Barnmorska Södertälje

  • The midwifery clinic can send a referral.
  • You can register yourself via the Alltid öppet (Always open) platform.

This service is intended for people who were born abroad, who are not familiar with Swedish maternity care, and who are anxious about giving birth. 

We have extensive experience of working with interpreters. We have the same duty of confidentiality as all other healthcare providers in Sweden. This healthcare is free of charge.
